Michèle Belot is Professor of Economics at the European University Institute and at the University of Edinburgh. Her research interests are broadly in applied microeconomics, with a special interest in experimental work and areas related to labour, health and education. Her recent work consists mainly of designing and testing interventions using randomized controlled trials, in the domains of health and job search. She is a member of the Council of the Royal Economic Society, of the Council of the European Society of Population Economics and of the European Association of Labour Economists. She has published in journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Health Economics, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science and The Economic Journal.
She received her PhD in Economics from Tilburg University in 2003 and has held previous academic positions at the University of Essex and at the University of Oxford.
