Call for Tracks
January 27-28, 2020

Following the successful introduction of domain-specific tracks at AMLD in 2019, we’re inviting researchers and field experts interested in chairing and organizing a track at AMLD2020 to submit proposals. Tracks will take place during the AMLD main conference on Monday and Tuesday, January 27 & 28, 2020, at EPFL, Switzerland. Multiple tracks will run at the same time, allowing participants to choose and follow a session relevant to their interests.

Track organizers have several responsibilities, including coordinating track content, finding and inviting speakers, providing and publicizing the program as well as moderating the sessions throughout their track. Tracks should be designed for a duration of half-day (3h content) or full day (6h content) with talks, panels and discussions around a specific application of Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence.

Track goals and requirements

1. Tracks should provide an informal and cutting edge discussion of inspiring work, innovative products or interesting research in a subfield or area of applied Machine Learning (e.g Finance, Health, Robotics, Environment, etc).

2. Tracks should bring together people with common interest, help foster the exchange of ideas, and contribute to building a community around specific applications of Machine Learning.

3. At AMLD, we encourage and expect quality and diversity in speakers. Tracks with all male speakers will be sent back to the 19th century.

4. After track acceptance/rejection notification, the organizers of accepted tracks will work with the AMLD team to develop a strong program and invite speakers. A call for talks/speakers will open shortly after track acceptance.

5. A close to final program and schedule is expected end of October.

6. We’re in discussion with Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence to give the opportunity to speakers and track contributors to publish their work as peer-reviewed articles. Interested track organizers can suggest a new Research Topic and oversee its publication.

The list, description, content and speakers of AMLD2019 tracks can be found on this page.

If in doubt, reach out! If you have an idea for a track, but are unsure, please talk to us! Contact us at info@appliedmldays.org.
